Can you put new shingles over my old roof?
Cedar & Slate Roofing does not lay new shingles over old ones. A tear off lets us see and replace rotten wood, and it gives the new shingles a flat base so the warranty stays valid.
Do I need to be home during the roof replacement?
No. Most Chattanooga homeowners go to work as normal. We need the driveway clear, the garage closed and pets inside. Expect hammering noise from about 7 AM until the crew leaves.
What happens if you find rotten wood under the shingles?
We replace it at the price per sheet written on your estimate, which is $85 for each sheet of plywood decking. Decking is the layer of wood the shingles are nailed to. We photograph it before we replace it.
What shingle colors can I choose from?
